Broccoli with Creamy Parmesan Sauce

Ingredients
  • 1 Pound broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk, divided
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • Pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Steam broccoli for 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk ¼ cup of milk with the flour until smooth.
  3. Heat the remaining ¾ cup of milk in a sauce pan until steaming, about 2 minutes. Whisk in the flour mixture; cook, whisking constantly, until thickened, 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat; add cheese and seasoning. Mix well. Pour over cooked broccoli.
