Ingredients
½ cup olive oil or canola oil
2 cups chopped onions
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed, cut in half
2 cups fresh tomatoes, chopped
2 teaspoons sugar
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat oil in a large skillet. Add the onions and garlic with ½ teaspoon salt and cook for 3 minutes.
Add the green beans, tomatoes, sugar, ½ teaspoon more salt and some pepper to skillet. Reduce heat to a low simmer and cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
