Balsamic Asian Style Green Beans
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 4 oz fresh sliced mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- In a steamer, stem green beans for about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile in a large skillet heat olive oil. Add the onions and mushrooms. Sautee for about 10 minutes, until mostly caramelized.
- Add the garlic and cook for 1 to 2 minutes more.
- Place the cooked green beans in a large pot over medium low heat. Add the mushroom mix and butter. When the butter melts, add the balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and spices. Heat through. Serve
Simple but great tasting.
Melt the butter in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Add the soy sauce and combine.
Mix in the seasoning.
Steam the green beans for 8 to 10 minutes. You could also boil the beans for about 8 minutes instead.
In a large skillet or wok over medium high heat warn the oil. Add the onions and mushrooms and saute for 10 minutes. Add the garlic and continue to saute for about 1 1/2 minutes longer.
Add the green beans to the wok and combine well.
Add the sauce mixture and cook for 1 minute.
When the mixture is heated through ou can serve.
