Lemon & Walnut Green Beans
Easy steamed green beans with lemon and crushed walnuts.
- 1 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and cut in half
- 1½ cups water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ½ teaspoon fresh lemon peel
- Juice from ½ of a lemon
- 2 ounces chopped walnuts
- Place beans and water in a large sauce pan. Cover, and bring to a boil. Set heat to low, and simmer until tender, about 14 minutes. Drain off the water, return beans to pan.
- Add butter, lemon juice and lemon peel to pan. Mix well. Divide amongst serving dishes and top with walnuts.

Only a few simple items needed for this great recipe. Green beans, lemon juice, lemon peel, butter, and crushed walnuts.
Place greeb beans and water in a large skillet and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low/medium and steam for 14 minutes.
Add butter, lemon juice, and lemon peel to skillet over medium heat. Add beans back to skillet. toss to coat and simmer for 1 minute.
Transfer to a serving dish and top with crushed walnuts.
