Buttery Herb Wine Sauce

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 4 ounce can mushrooms, drained
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup white wine
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup heavy cream
Instructions
  1. In a sauce pan, melt butter.
  2. Add the mushrooms and cook for 4 minutes.
  3. Mix in the flour, Italian seasoning and salt until smooth and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually stir in wine and chicken broth and stir to keep smooth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Whisk in the egg and cream, simmer and continue to whisk until thickened.
